- Mutes the voice, not the movieOnly the dialogue drops out for that moment, so the soundtrack keeps going. Prefer a bleep? Switch it on.
- Your own word listStart from Mild, Standard or Strict, then add or remove words and phrases. You can also choose to mute God, Jesus and Christ used as swearing.
- Check the words first, if you likeSee every word it found with the line around it, play the moment, and untick anything that should stay, like a character's name.

Good to know
Does it work with Netflix, Disney+ or DVDs?
No. Movie Cleaner works on movie files saved on your computer, such as movies you've bought as downloads or copied from your own discs. Streaming services don't let any app change what they play.
How long does a movie take?
Usually 15 to 45 minutes per movie, depending on its length and how fast your computer is. You can keep using your computer while it works.
Will it catch every word?
It catches nearly all of them. Very fast or mumbled lines can occasionally slip through, which is why the review step lets you check before the clean copy is made. The "Best" accuracy setting is slower but catches even more.
Can it mute a word I add myself?
Yes. Type any word or phrase into the list. Plurals are caught automatically, and adding * to the end catches every ending.
Will it ever turn into a subscription?
No. You pay once and Movie Cleaner is yours to keep, with no monthly fees, ever. Updates come through the Microsoft Store.
Is there a Mac version?
A Mac version is in the works. For now, Movie Cleaner is for Windows 10 and 11.
